   WHO AM I

My life has gone to the dogs... and that is a good thing!!

Most of my wife Bunny & my spare time is spent working with our dogs. Not riding bikes!!

To the right, I am getting a face lick from Vera. Vera was the first dog we raised to be a Guide Dog... we were her Volunteer Puppy Raisers. We got her as a ~2-month-old pup and had her for about 16 months. During that time, we worked on teaching her good house manners, about 20 commands, and spent a great deal of time & effort taking her into stores, resturants, and all sorts of public spaces to socialize her.

Vera went back to the organization that owner her for formal training and graduated the program to become a Guide Dog. She only worked about a year and was retired early. We were given the option to take her back and jumped at the opportunity.

Since returning to us, Vera has been certified as a Therapy Dog and accompanies us to many places (Ronald McDonald House, local Veterns Administartion & other hostitals, retirement homes, etc.). It is a great gig!

The pup to the left is Woz. He is the fifth dog we are raising to be a Guide Dog. He is just the sweetest boy and will be very hard to give back. But they all are!
